Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information What The English ("WTE," "we," "us") collects when a parent or guardian uses our Kids coach-matching inquiry form — the short widget on our Kids paid-ad landing page and the full form at /kids/match — how we use it, and what choices you have. It applies specifically to that inquiry and coach-matching form.

This form is for parents and guardians

This inquiry and coach-matching form is intended to be completed by a parent or guardian, not by a child. Any information about a child described below is information you, the parent or guardian, choose to provide to us for the purpose of finding and arranging English coaching. We do not knowingly ask children to fill out this form themselves.

Information we collect

When you submit the form, we collect:

About you (the parent or guardian)

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Optionally, a Telegram username or WhatsApp number, if you choose that as your preferred way for us to contact you

About your child, as you describe them

  • First name
  • Age (or an age range, such as "3 and under" or "16+," if you choose one)
  • Current English level
  • Preferred lesson length and how often you're considering lessons
  • The main goals you have for their coaching
  • Personality and learning-style selections you choose, and interests you mention — all optional
  • Your time zone or city, and broad windows of when lessons could work
  • Any additional notes you choose to add

If you reach the form through one of our pricing options, we also record which lesson length, frequency, and price you were looking at.

Technical and attribution information

  • Standard campaign-attribution parameters if present in the link you followed (such as UTM parameters, a referring page, or a Meta/Google click identifier), so we can tell which source or campaign led to an inquiry
  • The language (English or Russian) you were using, and whether you started from the short widget or the full form
  • Information needed to operate and protect the form itself. In particular: when the form is submitted, we briefly use your request's IP address to apply a basic rate limit (so the form can't be used to send spam), then convert it into a one-way cryptographic hash before anything is stored — we do not store your raw IP address.

How we use this information

  • Respond to your inquiry
  • Personally match your child with a suitable coach and recommend that match to you
  • Arrange lessons and a schedule that works for your family
  • Communicate with you about the WTE services you've asked about
  • Operate and secure the form itself (for example, preventing spam submissions)
  • Understand, in general terms, which marketing source or campaign led to an inquiry, where that information is available

We do not currently use this information for behavioral advertising, and we do not currently use Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or similar advertising/analytics tracking on this page. If that changes, we will update this policy before any materially different tracking or data-sharing practice begins.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only as needed to run the service above, with:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts this site and securely routes form submissions to our database
  • Supabase, which stores the information in our database and runs the server-side function that validates and saves each submission, and which also provides the sign-in system our own staff use to access the private lead-management view described below

If we later enable automated email notifications to our team when a new inquiry arrives, that would be sent through a transactional email provider; this capability exists in our system today but is not currently confirmed active.

Children's information

This form is designed to be completed by a parent or guardian on behalf of their child, not by the child directly. The information about a child described above is supplied by the parent or guardian for the specific purpose of matching that child with a coach and arranging English lessons. We do not intentionally collect this information directly from children.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we have on file about you or your child from this form
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Stop future contact or use of your information, where applicable

How long we keep information

We retain the information submitted through this form only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described above — responding to your inquiry, matching and arranging coaching, our ordinary business recordkeeping, and any security or legal obligations that apply. We have not yet formalized a specific retention schedule; this is something we intend to define more precisely.

Security

We limit who can access the information submitted through this form. It is stored in a database that is not readable by the public, and only specifically authorized WTE staff — signed in through our own authentication system — can view or update it, and even then only certain fields (such as status and internal notes) can be changed; the original information you submitted cannot be altered by staff. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices change. If we make a change that materially affects how we use or share your information — including adding advertising tracking — we will update this page before that change takes effect.
